Elda Marie Franklin

Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 for 77-year-old Elda Marie Franklin of Perryville who died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at Perry County Nursing home.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1922 in Perry County, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rosa (Zoellner) Schott.

She was married to Carl E. "Tooter" Franklin. He preceded her in death.

Children surviving are Sandra Hudson of Imperial, Mo.; Sharon Schindler of Arnold; Dianne Balsman of Barnhart; Donna Schremp of Perryville; and Gary Franklin of St. Louis.

Brothers and sisters surviving are Chalmer Schott of Colorado; Glennon Schott of Belleville, Ill.; Rita Winkler of Perryville; and Wilma Fiala of Colorado.

Thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 30 from 4-9 p.m. and Friday from 6:30-9:40 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass for Elda Marie Franklin will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin Fausz CM will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial preference is to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School.
