Erwin Grass

A funeral will be held Sunday, July 11th for 73-year-old Erwin Grass of Longtown who died Thursday at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 27, 1925 in Friedheim, the son of Henry C. and Martha (Schubert) Grass who both preceded in death.

He married LaVerne Hacker on July 8, 1948. She preceded in death.

He is survived by one daughter: Janice Eckert of Cape Girardeau.

One brother: Elmer Grass of Menfro and two sisters: Hattie Bohnert of Cape Girardeau and Hilda Vogel of Washington, survive.

He is also survived by two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded by one brother.

He was retired from 23 years at the International Shoe Company and 23 year at Atlas Plastics.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, life member of the VFW and AmVets, American Legion Post 133, River Hills Eagles Lodge 4034, Perry County Sportsman Club and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Visitation Saturday from 4-9 p.m. and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Visitation will continue Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown. A wake will be held Saturday evening at Young and Sons.

A funeral for 73-year-old Erwin Grass of Longtown will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown. Burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate.

Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church Educational Fund.
