PERRYVILLE -- A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 25th for 73-year-old Betty Jean Esselman of Perryville who died Monday.

She was born June 29th, 1925 in Collinsville, Illinois, the daughter of David Mayer and Hattie Kourank Mayer who both preceded in death.

She married Merlin Patrick Joe Esselman on October 20th, 1945. He preceded in death.

She is survived by two sons: Merlin Esselman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Scott Esselman of Perryville.

Three daughters also survive: Sandra Vigna of Belleville, Illinois; Margo Bova of Caseyville, Illinois and Roxann Allen of Perryville.

She is also survived by one brother: Bill Mayer of Mt. Olive, Illinois and by two sisters: Carol Stewart and Bernice Halstead both of Fairview Heights, Illinois.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and Thursday from 6:30-10 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral service for 73-year-old Betty Jean Esselman of Perryville will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Lause, C.M., officiating.

Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice.
