Martha M. "Tootie" (Barks) Cowan A funeral will be held Tuesday, October 26th for 76-year-old Martha M. "Tootie" (Barks) Cowan of Perryville who died Sunday at the Perry County Nursing Home. She was born November 27th, 1922 in Farmington, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Thomure) Wells who preceded in death. She married Perry Barks in 1942. He preceded in death. She married Ralph Cowan on January 18th, 1976. He survives in Perryville. Two daughters also survive her: Dorothy Bey of Perryville and Shirley Cocurriche of Dexter. Two sons also survive her: Bill Barks of Cape Girardeau and Donald Barks of New Rochelle, New York. One-step son survives: Herbert Cowan of Temple, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, on step grandchild and 18 great-grandchildren also survive her. She was a past member of the AmVets Post 94 Auxiliary, VFW Post 4282 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 133 all in Perryville. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. this evening and 6:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 76-year-old Martha M. "Tootie" (Barks) Cowan of Perryville will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Hankinson will officiate. Memorials are preferred to the Southeast Missouri Hospice. |
