Wanda Course

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 29,1999, for 84-year-old Wanda Corse, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Menfro, who died Sunday.

Born on June 5, 1915 in Menfro, the daughter of Herman and Della (Cox) Cox, who both preceded in death. She married Kenneth Corse in 1936 and he preceded in death in 1998.

She is survived by one daughter; Ann Besand of Cape Girardeau, and two sons; Walter Corse of Arnold, and Louis Corse of Areata, California. Also surviving is one sister; Imogene Yankey of St. Charles and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Crosstown. Mrs. Corse edited a column in a Perryville newspaper for 46 years, and also operated the Yankey restaurant and grocery store in Menfro.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8pm, at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Additional visitation will be Wednesday morning from 6:30 - 12 noon. There will also be visitation at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Crosstown, from 1 - 2 pm. A funeral service for Wanda Corse, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Crosstown, will be on Wednesday at 2pm, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Cox and Rev. Steve Francis will officiate and burial will be in the Church cemetery.
