A funeral was held Monday, April 3^rd for 48-year-old Roy L. Abernathy of Perryville, who died Saturday, April 1^st at his home.

He was born August 25^th, 1951 in Perry County, the son of Thomas Abernathy who preceded in death and LaVern (Collins) Emmendorfer who survives in Perryville.

He married Mary Ann Kiefer on September 11^th, 1970. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by one son: Vincent Abernathy and one daughter: Patricia Abernathy, both of St. Louis.

He is also survived by two sisters: Judy Hawkins of Troy, Illinois and Joyce Mehrer of Rockwood, Illinois and by three brothers: Tom Abernathy of Jefferson, Texas and Robert Abernathy and Danny Abernathy, both of Perryville.

He was U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Visitation was held Sunday, April 2^nd and Monday, April 3^rd at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral service for 48-year-old Roy L. Abernathy of Perryville was held Monday, April 3^rd at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Burial was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials are preferred to the Cancer Care Camp for Kids.
