Ray Henderson Funeral service will be held Saturday for 76-year-old Ray Henderson who died today (Monday) at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 4, 1923 in Perry County, the son of the late Jessie and Mildred (Hudson) Henderson. He was married to Elizabeth Ashley. She preceded him in death in 1985. He married Vivian (Martin) Nelson. She survives in Perryville. One son and 2 step-daughters survive: Richard Henderson of Florissant; Janice E. Godlove of Perryville; and Joan E. Distler of New Melle, Mo. Four brothers and one sister survive: Madison Henderson of Wichita, Kas.; Charles Henderson of Perryville; Bert Henderson of Wichita, Kas.; Lawrence Henderson of St. Peters; and Ina June Kahmke of Aux Vasse, Mo. Nine grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Francis. He was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men’s Club, Volunteers in Mission, Perry County Memorial Hospital Volunteer, American Legion Post 133 and WWII Navy Veteran. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel. American Legion Wake Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral service for Ray Henderson will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at United Methodist Church. Rev. Ed Hankinson will officiate. Commital Service and burial at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial preference is to United Methodist Church or Southeast Hospice.
