Elda A. Bergt

Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 for 89-year-old Elda A. Bergt of Altenburg who died Jan. 11 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1910 in Frohna, the daughter of the late Gustav and Concordia (Kaufman) Weinhold.

She was married to Gerhard "Gary" W. Bergt. He preceded her in death.

Four children survive: Carol J. Hurston of St. Louis; Gary R. Bergt of Livingston, Tex.; Donald L. Bergt of Altenburg; and Kathy Schuessler of St. Louis.

One brother and one sister survive: Harold Weinhold of St. Louis and Gladys "Tutty" Reid of St. Louis.

Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Hilmer and one sister, Laura Bird.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and Thursday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. Rev. Ahlert Strand will officiate. Burial in the church Cemetery.

Memorial preference is to Perry County Historical Society.
