Orville F. Abernathy

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2000 for 79-year-old Orville F. Abernathy who died Jan. 19, 2000 at Perry Oaks Nursing Home.

He was born on June 10, 1920 in Menfro, Mo., the son of John and Julie (Clifton) Abernathy.

He was married to Maxine Colin. She survives in Perryville.

One daughter, Joy Schloss, survives in St. Louis.

Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville; a U.S. Army WWII Vet; VFW Post 4282 and Bereans Bible Class member.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. VFW wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service for Orville F. Abernathy will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. Craig Otto will officiate. Burial in the church cemetery.
