Funeral service was held June 12, 2000 for 84-year-old Olida Edna Gerler of Perryville who died June 9, 2000 at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1915 in Wittenberg, the daughter of the late Reinhold and Lydia (Lawrence) Schuessler.

She was married to Rudolph Gerler. He survives in Cape Girardeau.

One daughter, Betty, Mrs. Vernon Steffens, survives in Frohna.

One grandchild and two great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alvin, and two brothers, Floyd and Oliver.

she was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL,  and St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, Mo. 

Funeral service for Olida Edna Gerler was held Monday, June 12 at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. Rev. Wayne Palmer officiated. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery in Wittenberg, Mo.

Memorial preference is to the Lutheran Hour of Alzheimer's Foundation.
