Helen E. Bierk A funeral will be held Saturday, December 22nd, 2001 for 99-year-old Helen E. Bierk of Perryville, who died Monday, December 17th at the Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville. She was born February 15th, 1902 in Gorham, Kansas, the daughter of Anton Nowak and Jennie Psenicka Nowak who both preceded her in death. She married John L. Mills in August 1922. He died in an automobile accident on August 25th, 1923. She married Jake Bierk, who preceded her in death on January 20th, 1966. She is survived by six grandchildren, Kathleen Duke, Barbara Tesh, Maureen Mills, Patricia Anadkat, Mary Jo Schulte and Robert Mills. Thirteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and one great great greatgrandchild survive. She is also survived by one daughter in law, Marjorie Mills of Perryville and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert A. Mills, six brothers and one sister. She had been a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity. Visitation will be from 8-9:50 a.m. Saturday, December 22nd at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. A funeral mass for 99-year-old Helen E. Bierk of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 22nd at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M., will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Ladies of Charity.
