Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 for 79-year-old Mary Viola (Hart) Gibbar of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Perryville, who died Thursday, Dec. 20 at her residence.

She was born on June 10, 1922 in Perryville, the daughter of the late James and Florence (Reihl) Hart.

She was married to Paul L. Gibbar on Aug. 30, 1940. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1987.

Children surviving are Garry Gibbar of St. Mary; Kenneth L. Gibbar of Perryville; Richard K. Gibbar of Cape Girardeau; Mick Gibbar of Glendale, Cal.; Judith Ann Sexauer of Ste. Genevieve; Jean Moore of Perryville; and Cindy Renee Gibbar of Cape Girardeau.

One sister, Jane Kiefer, survives in Perryville.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darius and Lloyd Hart; and two sisters, Florence Hart and Delphia Wood.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 21 from 4-9 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 6:30-10:45 a.m. Parish wak Friday at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass for Mary Viola (Hart) Gibbar will be held Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. . Rev. Joe Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial preference is to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
