A funeral will be held Tuesday, February 13th, 2001 for 85-year-old Gilbert E. Dreyer of Frohna, who died Saturday, February 10th at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 27th, 1915 in Frohna, the son of Joachim and Anna (Schlimpert) Dreyer who preceded in death.

He married Eugenia Emma Schimer on May 16th, 1937. She preceded in death.

He is survived by one son and daughter in law, Verlin and Betty Dreyer of Frohna.

A sister, Myrtle Petzoldt of New Wells, also survives him.

Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

A sister and four brothers also preceded him in death.

He was a retired farmer and Perry County Mutual Insurance agent. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served as president, vice-president, trustee, school board member, finance board member and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Concordia Men's Club and East Perry Fair Board.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. this (Monday, February 12th) afternoon and evening and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 13th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 85-year-old Gilbert E. Dreyer of Frohna will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 13th at Concordia Lutheran Church at Frohna. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Palmer will officiate.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Research Center or to Concordia Lutheran Church.
