Alma M. Janet A funeral was held this (Monday, July 2nd, 2001) morning for 85-year-old Alma M. Janet who died Friday, June 29th at the Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. She was born January 29th, 1916 in Perry County, the daughter of John Blandford and Louise Fassold Blandford who preceded her in death. She married Vallie Joseph Janet on November 7th, 1931. He preceded in death. He is survived by two sons: Melvin J. "Chip" Janet of Cape Girardeau and Vallie L. "Pee Wee" Janet of Perryville. One brother, Chalmer Blandford of Perryville and one sister-in-law, Florence Blandford of Perryville survive. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. She had been a stitcher at the International Shoe Co. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Visitation was Sunday, July 1st, from 4-8 p.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home and today, (Monday, July 2nd) from 9-10 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. A funeral for 85-year-old Alma M. Janet was held this morning (Monday, July 2nd) at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Craig Otto officiated. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Radio Broadcast or to family choice.
