A funeral will be held Sunday, July 15th, 2001 for Lydia J. Eggers of Perryville who died Wednesday, July 11th at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born November 11th, 1909 in Farrar, the daughter of Gottlieb and Martha (Mangels) Versemann who both preceded her in death.

She married Walter A. Eggers on April 16th, 1933. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters in law and one daughter and son in law: Calvin and Alma Eggers of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Richard and Peggy Eggers of Florissant; Martha and Clinton Haertling of Perryville; Fred Eggers of Farrar and Carl and Brenda Eggers of Perryville.

One sister and brother in law, Frances and Martin Bruss of Brentwood and one sister in law, Ruth Verseman of Perryville, also survive.

Nine grandchildren survive.

She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Johanna; a brother, Edwin Verseman; and six sisters, Engel Miesner, Ida Kaempfe, Agnes Verseman, Norma Verseman, Meta Lorenz and Doris Fritsche.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, a charter member of Salem Ladies Aid and the Salem Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Saturday, July 14th, and 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Sunday, July 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 91-year-old Lydia J. Eggers of Perryville will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15th at the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Capital Improvement Fund or Immanuel Lutheran School in Perryville.
