Willie L. Borgfield

A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 26th, 2001 for 85-year-old Willie L. Borgfield of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Longtown, who died Saturday, June 23rd at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 3rd, 1915 in Fruitland, the son of William Henry and Augusta Wilhemia Caroline (Puchbauer) Borgfield, who both preceded him in death.

He married Ruby M. Maag on June 12th, 1943. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons and daughters in law: Glen and Brenda Borgfield of Altenburg and Eric and Theresa Borgfield of Longtown.

Two grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

He was a retired farmer and member of Zion Lutheran Church of Longtown, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, VFW Post No. 4282, Perryville and American Legion Post No. 133, Perryville.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., this (Monday, June 25th) afternoon and evening and 6:30-8:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 26th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A VFW wake will be held at 7 p.m. this (Monday, June 25th) evening at the funeral home.

A funeral for 85-year-old Willie L. Borgfield of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Longtown, will be held Tuesday, June 26th at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Longtown. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate. American Legion Post No. 133, Perryville, will conduct a military graveside service.

Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Cemetery or Saxony Lutheran High School.
