Elvira Gertrude Burroughs

A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 31st, 2001 for 83-year-old Elvira Gertrude Burroughs of Perryville who died Sunday, October 28th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born February 2nd, 1918 in Frohna, the daughter of Joseph and Amalia (Oberndorfer) Kramer who both preceded her in death.

She married Harold Burroughs on August 11th, 1940. He preceded her in death.

Two sons, Harold Burroughs Jr. of St. Louis and Dale Burroughs of Altenburg, survive her.

Two daughters, Donna Tucker of Perryville and Sandra Buchheit of Jackson, also survive her.

Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Three brothers, Edmund, Paul and Gilbert and one sister, Emma Bodenschatz, also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville and was a cook at the American Care Center.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30-9 a.m. Wednesday at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 83-year-old Elvira Gertrude Burroughs of Perryville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 31st at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Southeast Hospice or Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
