Clarence Allen ‘Abe’ Bivens A funeral will be held Friday, September 21st, 2001 for 55-year-old Clarence Allen "Abe" Bivens of Perryville who died Wednesday, September 19th at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born June 5th, 1946 in Caruthersville, the son of Clarence Adam and Mildred Lorene (Davis) Bivens who both preceded him in death. He married Janeen Shrum on March 17th, 1980. She survives in Bloomfield. Two sons and one daughter also survive him: Brian Keith Bivens of Hayti, Benjamin Abraham Bivens of Cape Girardeau and Katherine Marie Bivens of Ste. Genevieve. Three brothers also survive him: Joe of Murphysboro, Bill of Caruthersville and George of the state of Alabama. Two half-sisters and one half-brother also survive him: Betty Joe Cassidy of Foley; Jack Bivens of Sparta, Illinois; and Betty Bivens of the state of Illinois. His mother and father also survive him in law, Clareen and Finley Macklin of Ste. Genevieve and by many nieces and nephews. A sister, a half-brother and three half-sisters also preceded him. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a mixer at Gilster-Mary Lee. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, September 21st at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 55-year-old Clarence Allen "Abe" Bivens of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21st at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery. Art Hunt will officiate. Memorials are preferred for family use.
