Norman M. Haertling

A funeral will be held Monday, September 24th, 2001 for 74-year-old Norman M. Haertling of Wittenberg who died Wednesday, September 19th at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 3rd, 1927 in Wittenberg, the son of Edgar A. and Hertha G. (Ruehling) Haertling who both preceded him in death.

He married Verna May Fuehler on May 27th, 1950. She survives in Wittenberg.

Three daughters and sons in law also survive him: Brenda and Bruce Schoen of Jackson, Linda and Vernon Schoen of Oak Ridge and Sharon and John Rosenberg of St. Louis.

Two sons and daughters in law also survive him: Ronald and Cheryl Haertling of Susanville, California and Robert and Kathy Haertling of Altenburg.

Two brothers also survive him: Leonard of Nashville, Illinois and Edgar of Steelville, Illinois.

Three sisters survive: Vernell Steiner of Jackson, Elaine Hadler of Bridgeton and Gladys Prevallet of Laurens, South Carolina.

Nineteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive him.

Many nieces and nephews also survive him.

A brother, Raymond, also preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and carpenter and a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Trinity Choral Society and the Altenburg Lions Club.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 23rd from 5-9 p.m. and Monday, September 24th from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.

A funeral for 74-year-old Norman H. Haertling of Wittenberg will be held at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Paseur will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Choral Society.
