Kenneth L. Hayden A funeral will be held Friday, April 26, 2002 for 67-year-old Kenneth L. Hayden of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Perryville, who died Tuesday, April 23rd at his residence. He was born November 6th, 1934 in Perryville, the son of Edward and Helen Hayden. His father survives. He married Glenda Parsons on July 24th, 1993. He is also survived by five children: Mark Hayden of San Diego, California; Pamela Pfanstiel of Cape Girardeau; Lonette Piper of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Greg Hayden of Olathe, Kansas; and Karla Hunter of Dongola, Illinois. Five siblings survive: Margie Carron of Perryville; Jerry Wingerter of Chester, Illinois; Barbara LeCompte of St. Louis; Norman Hayden of Cape Girardeau; and Deloris Monier of Perryville. Fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Five stepchildren also survive: Mike Parson of St. Louis; David Parsons of Marathon, Florida; Mark Parsons of Cape Girardeau; Steve Parsons of Cape Girardeau and John Parson of Paris, France. Eleven step grandchildren also survive. He was a graduate of St. Vincent dePaul High School in Perryville and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957. He was employed in the banking industry for 35 years with Cape Federal, Colonial Federal, First Federal and Boatman's Banks. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Cape Jaycees, Cape Lion's Club, Chamber of Commerce, SEMO Boosters, chairman of the Notre Dame High School Fund, an Extraordinary Minister and a member of several other organizations including the Notre Dame High School Board of Directors, St. Francis Medical Center Board of Directors, St. Francis Foundation Board of Directors, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Capaha Bank Board of Directors and Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be 4-9 this afternoon and evening at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Prayer service at 8:30 p.m. with rosary to follow. A funeral for 67-year-old Kenneth L. Hayden will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 26th at the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Reverends Oscar Lukefahr and Charles Prost will officiate. A memorial scholarship fund has been established through the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation entitled: The Kenneth Hayden Nursing Scholarship.
