Paul M. Funke A funeral will be held Tuesday, August 27th, 2002 for 89-year-old Paul M. Funke of Perryville who died today, (Saturday, August 24th, 2002) at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. He was born September 6th, 1912 in Longtown, the son of M. G. and Louise (Springer) Funke who both preceded him in death. He married Ruth A. Rudisaile on June 21st, 1953. She survives in Perryville. One daughter and son in law also survive him, Patricia and Charles Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve. One sister, Lenola Kohlmann of St. Louis and two brothers, Martin Funke of Perryville and Julian Funke of Overland Park, Kansas, also survive him. Two grandchildren survive, Brian and Kyle Wibbenmeyer. He was a seat laster at the International Shoe Company and an airplane mechanic at Sabreliner. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, assigned to the 746th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 133. One sister, Ada Mecker, and three brothers, Lucas, Arno and Alvin, also preceded him in death. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, August 26th and 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 89-year-old Paul M. Funke of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery with a military graveside service provided by American Legion Post No. 133. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Longtown Tuition Fund, Perry County Memorial Hospital or to the donor's choice.
