E.V. ‘Shorty’ Feltz

A funeral will be held Monday, June 24th, 2002 for 86-year-old E.V. "Shorty" Feltz of Sereno who died Thursday, June 20th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born February 3rd, 1916 in Lithium, the son of Harrison and Mary A. (Vessels) Feltz who both preceded him in death.

He married Mildred Hagan on April 23, 1934. She survives in Perryville.

He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Margie and Chalmer Herron of Florissant.

Three sisters survive: Dollie Mae Welker of Perryville, Delores Dunker of Perryville and Bernadine Hagan of St. Louis.

Four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Edgar, and three sisters, Bernice Hilderbrand, Mildred Wade and Stella Pingel.

He was a retired watchman from Bilt Best.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, past member of American Legion Booster Club Post No. 133 and Elks Lodge No. 2701 in Perryville.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Sunday, June 23rd and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Monday, June 24th at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville.

A Catholic wake will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 86-year-old E.V. "Shorty" Feltz of Sereno will be held at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Francis Agnew will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer or Multiple Sclerosis.
