Funeral service was held Monday, March 18, 2002 for 95-year-old Mary Magdalena (Lena) Blechle of Perryville who died Friday, March 15 at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1906 in Biehle, the daughter of the late Anton Schemel and Agnes Julia (Biehle) Schemel.

She was married to John M. Blechle on May 23, 1936. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1966.

Two daughters survive, Betty Klump and Marjorie Martin, both of Perryville.

Two sisters survive, Louise Duvall and Edna Hayes, both of St. Louis.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Blechle had been a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies sodality

Visitation was at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass for Mary Magdalena (Lena) Blechle was held Monday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiated. Burial was on the Mount Hope Cemetery.
