Louis Edward Brewer

Funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 25, 2002 for 75-year-old Louis Edward Brewer of Carbondale, Ill. who died Friday, Mar. 22 at Barnes Jewish Hospital.

He was born on June 22, 1926 in Perryville, the son of the late Edward Louis and Stella Ann (Bass) Brewer.

He was married to Georgia Anne Hensley on Dec. 26, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1982.

He was married to Rita (Eckenfels) Brewer on Jan. 15, 1985. She survives in Carbondale, Ill.

Three sisters and two brothers survive: Albert J. Brewer of Perryville; Dennis C. Brewer of Perryville; Dorothy A. Uding of Homosassa Springs, Fla.; Sister Helen Brewer D.C. of Austin Tex.; and Victoria Elliott of Brookport, Ill.

One sister, Maura Jean Adair, preceded him in death.

He was a a World War II, Korea and Vietnam Retired Navy Veteran; member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, V.F.W. in Port Hueneme, Cal.; Fleet Reserve Association of Port Hueneme, Cal.; and K of C Third Degree in Perryville.

Funeral Mass for Louis Edward Brewer was held on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Joe Williams CM  officiated. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial preference is to St. Vincent Endowment Fund.
