Meredith N. Bert

A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 15th, 2002 for 68-year-old Meredith N. Bert of Perryville who died Sunday, May 12th at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born August 1st, 1933 in Belgique, the son of Comiel and Sophia (Klobe) Bert who both preceded her in death.

He married Janet Herring on February 23rd, 1990. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by six sons and three daughters in law, Jerry and Sandy Bert, Neil and Cathy Bert, Shane Bert, Robert and Shawna Bert, Darin Reid and Brian Rollet, all of Perryville.

He is also survived by two daughters and two sons in law, Gina and Dean Martin and Dana and Lynn Koenig all of Perryville.

One brother, Donald Bert of Englewood, Colorado and one sister Winona Helenschmidt of Festus also survive.

Thirteen grandchildren also survive him.

Two sons, Robert and Brian Bert, a brother, Stanley and two sisters, Betty Harris and Claudia Beeman, also preceded him in death.

He was a retired truck driver for Steinbecker Livestock.

He was a member of the Catholic faith, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a licensed pilot, four time past master of the Masonic Lodge No. 670, member of the American Legion Post No. 133 and River Hills Eagles, both in Perryville.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday 6:30-10 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 p.m. and a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A funeral for 68-year-old Meredith N. Bert of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

Burial will be in the Home Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the American Legion Post No. 133.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
