Michael J. Cushman

A funeral will be held Thursday, May 16th, 2002 for 56-year-old Michael J. Cushman of Perryville, who died Sunday, May 12th at his home.

He was born August 2nd, 1945 in Red Bud, IL, the son of Bernie M. and Fern B. (Colvis) Cushman. His mother survives in Chester, IL.

He married Mary A. Epplin on October 22nd, 1966. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Michelle and Bob Crow of Cape Girardeau; Mary and Scott Cates of Cape Girardeau; Marci and Doug Bollinger of Perryville; Melissa Cushman of Cape Girardeau and a son, Michael J. Cushman, Jr. of Cape Girardeau.

He is also survived by four sisters: Connie Holzum of Chester, IL; Betty Ann Welge of Chester, IL; Linda Smith of Alton, IL and Debria Davitz of Atlanta, GA.

Two granddaughters and two step-grandsons also survive.

He was also preceded in death by a stillborn infant.

He was the owner-operator of Cushman Companies and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Past Grand Knight, charter member of Perryville Elks, American Legion Post 133, Sportsman Club, past member of the Army National Guard and the Perryville Optimist.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 6:30-9:40 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The Parish and Knights of Columbus will recite Rosary at 7:30 Wednesday night.

A funeral for 56-year-old Michael J. Cushman of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Chester, IL with Military Graveside Services. The Reverend Kevin Fausz, C.M. will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent School Endowment Fund, or to the Park Hills Hospice or for family use.
