Rev. Francis A. Byrne

A funeral mass will be held locally on Friday, November 29th, 2002 for 68-year-old Reverend Francis A. Byrne of Perryville, who died Tuesday, November 26th, 2002 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 22nd, 1934, in Chicago, the son of John and Margaret (McShane) Byrne, who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law: John Byrne of Niles, IL; Charles Byrne of Chicago and Mrs. Neil Byrne of Glenview, IL.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Neil.

He was a Catholic Priest who entered St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville on May 30th, 1953. He professed vows at St. Mary's of the Barrens on May 31st, 1955. He was ordained as a Deacon at St. Mary's of the Barrens by Bishop Glennon P. Flavin on October 7th, 1961. He was ordained as a Priest at St. Mary's of the Barrens by Bishop George Gottwald on June 10th, 1962.

A Mass for Rev. Frank Byrne will be held at St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville on Friday, November 29th, 2002 at 8 a.m.

Friends may call on Friday, November 29th at the Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge, IL from 6-9 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's of the Woods in Chicago on Saturday, November 30th, 2002 at 10 a.m.

Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery in Chicago with Rev. John Gagnepain officiating.
