Rev. James P. Duncan

A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 23rd, 2002 for the 83-year-old Rev. James P. Duncan II of Perryville who died Friday, October 18th at the Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 19th, 1918 in St. Louis, the son of Robert Cole and Theodora (Conzelman) Duncan who both preceded him in death.

He married Shirley L. Simmons on October 16th, 1950. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by one son, James P. Duncan III of Perryville and one daughter and son in law, Candace and Newman Fair of Perryville.

One sister survives, Mary Marquis of San Rafael, California.

Two grandchildren survive.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda, and a brother, Robert.

He was a Presbyterian minister and Pastor Emeritus of the Presbyterian Church in Perryville and Brazeau. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the Ministerial Alliance and served on the boards of a variety of community organizations.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 22nd and 6:30-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 23rd at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A memorial service for the 83-year-old Rev. James P. Duncan II of Perryville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23rd at the First Presbyterian Church in Perryville. The Reverends Tom Bass, Jerry McBride and Bill Allen will be co-officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Perryville or Brazeau Presbyterian Church, the American Bible Society or donor's choice.
