Dorothy M. Esselman A funeral will be held Friday, February 21st, 2003 for 75-year-old Dorothy M. Esselman of Perryville who died today, (February 19th, 2003) in Perryville. She was born February 15th, 1928 in Menfro, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Schremp) Glaub who both preceded her in death. She married Eugene T. Esselman on December 30th, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 4th, 1971. She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Ron and Connie Esselman of Perryville. One brother, Ralph Glaub of Avondale, Louisiana and three sisters, Anna Marie Olney of Middleton, Ohio; Mildred Kiefer of Perryville and Delores Smith of Wynne, Arkansas. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tyler, Lucas and Kelly Esselman and Sherry Horch and Michael and Steven Winchester. One great grandson, Wyatt Winchester, also survives. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Winchester, a son, Alan Esselman, and two sisters, Virginia Wilson and Catherine Wood. She was a self-employed seamstress, making school uniforms in St. Louis for 23 years. She was also retired from Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday, February 20th and 6:30-11 a.m. Friday, February 21st at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. A funeral mass for 75-year-old Dorothy M. Esselman of Perryville will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Fausz, CM, will officiate. Memorials may be made to breast cancer research.
