Elizabeth Louise ‘Betty Lou’ (Knox) Balser A funeral will be held Saturday, July 12th, 2003 for 76-year-old Elizabeth Louise "Betty Lou" (Knox) Balser of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who died Sunday, June 29th, 2003 in Tulsa. She was born October 16th, 1962 in Brazeau, the daughter of Fern and Edwin Knox. She married Richard L. Balser. He survives. Other survivors include: three daughters and a son in law: Barbara McCarty, Becky Balser and Beth and Ken McCarty and two grandsons, all of Tulsa. A brother, Kenneth "Bud" Knox, preceded her in death. She graduated from Perryville High School and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Following graduation, she joined the Missouri Public Health Department and managed their laboratory in Sikeston. She was devoted to her family and friends and was always there to care for them in their times of greatest need. She was passionate about the study of history, particularly that of the Civil War and of the Brazeau area. The work that she did to document the settlement and history of Brazeau was one of her proudest accomplishments. A funeral for 76-year-old Elizabeth Louise "Betty Lou" (Knox) Balser of Tulsa will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12th at the Brazeau Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Brazeau. The Rev. Thomas Bass will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Brazeau Presbyterian Church, Brazeau MO, 63737. |
