Funeral service will be held Friday, June 27, 2003 for 97-year-old Rev. Emil L. Bickel of Perryville who died Thursday, June 19 at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1905 in Frankenmuth, MI., the son of the late John and Regina (Loesel) Bickel.

He was married to Agnes W. Ranke on Aug. 24, 1930. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1994.

Two sons and one daughter survive, Eugene Bickel of Brentwood; James Bickel of Bowling Green Ken.; and Maxine Fiala of Seward, Neb.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a Lutheran pastor since 1930.

He was a former pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 26 from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and on Friday, June 27 from 6:30-9:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Rev. Emil L. Bickel will be held Friday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. Craig Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial preference is to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund or Immanuel Scholarship Fund.
