Clifford W. Clifton A funeral will be held Tuesday, March 4th, 2003 for 81-year-old Clifford W. Clifton who died Saturday, March 1st at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville. He was born May 23rd, 1921 in Menfro, the son of Thurman and Cartha (Sandlin) Clifton, who both preceded him in death. He married Leola Milliano on August 16th, 1941. She survives in Perryville. He is also survived by a daughter in law, Janet Clifton of Perryville. Two grandchildren, Heather Schroeder of Perryville and Keith Clifton of O'Fallon, also survive. One great grandchild, Mathew Clifford Schroeder, survives in Perryville. Two sons, Larry and Clifford Jr., one brother, Woodrow and one infant brother, also preceded him in death. He was a construction foreman and U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perryville, Masonic Lodge No. 670 in Perryville and American Legion Post No. 133 in Perryville. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. this (Monday, March 3rd) afternoon and evening and 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. American Legion Wake will be at 7 and Masonic Lodge Service will be at 7:30 this evening at the funeral home. A funeral for 81-year-old Clifford W. Clifton will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4th, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery with military graveside honors. The Rev. Dennis Cebulak will officiate. Memorials are preferred to the First Baptist Church in Perryville.
