Elta Francis Berkbigler

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2003 for 95-year-old Elta Francis Berkbigler of Perryville who died Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1908 in Perry County, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Miget.

She was married to Paul J. Berkbigler. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1975.

One son and one daughter survive: Thomas P. Berkbigler Sr. of Cape Girardeau, and Josephine Schnurbusch of Perryville.

Two brothers and two sisters survive: Steve Miget of Pekin, Ill., Weldon Miget of Perryville; Eula Smith of Perryville; and Pat Kirn of Festus.

Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Ramona Fern Smith, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Berkbigler was a homemaker and a school teacher.

Visitation will be from 4:00-89:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 at the Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish wake service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Dec. 1 from 6:30-8:50 a.m. with the rosary recited at 8:00 a.m.

Funeral service for Elta Francis Berkbigler will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Rev. Kevin Fausz CM will officiate.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
