Chalmer V. Blessing

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 for 85-year-old Chalmer V. Blessing of Perryville who died Monday, Nov. 10 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1917 in Perry County, the son of the late Joseph Henry and Mary Luvina Taylor Blessing.

He was married to June Weibrecht on Sept. 25, 1948. She survives in Perryville.

The following children and sons and daughters-in-laws survive: Ronda and Tom Rowland, Norma and Roger Vernon, and Marilyn Klein, all of Perryville; JoAnn Hansen of St. Mary; Susan Ponder of Oak Ridge; Jill Roth of Ste. Genevieve; Cletus Blessing of Blackstone Vir.; Carl and Sue Blessing of Festus; and Daniel and Karen Blessing of St. Charles.

Four brothers and one sister survive: Joseph Blessing Jr. of Perryville; Conway blessing of Afton; Ben Blessing of Omaha, Neb.; Donald Blessing of Advance; and Irene Krieger of Jackson.

Also surviving are 23 grandchildren.

One daughter, Lauren Blessing; three brothers, Hubert, Merlin and Leroy; and one sister, Sr. Janie Marie Blessing, CSJ, preceded him in death.

Mr. Blessing was a farmer, and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army air Corps. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 4:00-9:00 p.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish Wake at 7:00 p.m. visitation will continue Wednesday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.

Funeral Mass for Chalmer V. Blessing will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
