A funeral will be held Saturday, November 29th, 2003 for 74-year-old Francis X. Flieg of Perryville, formerly of Zell, who died Thursday, November 27th at his residence.

He was born August 4th, 1929 in Zell, the son of Andrew and Philomena (Grass) Flieg, who both preceded him in death.

He married Helen Samson. She preceded him in death.

He married Delsie F. Sparks on August 1st, 1967.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters in law, Steven and Carol Flieg and Robert and Joan Flieg, all of Ste. Genevieve; four daughters and sons in law, Joyce and Terry Belfield of Ste. Genevieve, Gail and Dennis Dowdy of Ste. Genevieve, Holly and Jeff Turner of Ste. Genevieve and Kelly and Charles Picou of Perryville; two brothers and sisters in law, Henry and Evelyn Flieg of Perryville and Aloysius and Hildegard Flieg of Ste. Genevieve; three sisters and a brother in law, Sr. Mary Vera Flieg of Red Bud, Illinois; Lorene Gegg of Ste. Genevieve and Rosemary and Francis Kreitler of Ste. Genevieve; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Huck; a son, Charles Wilbur Schwent; and two brothers, Richard and Herbert Flieg.

He was a member of the Perryville Kiwanis Club and the Western Catholic Union. He worked alongside his daughter, Kelly, at Kelly's Restaurant in Perryville after retiring as a poultry farmer for many years.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29th at 11:30 a.m. at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 74-year-old Francis X. Flieg of Perryville, formerly of Zell, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29th at St. Joseph Church in Zell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. James Hanson will officiate.
