A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 8th, 2003 for 86-year-old Nelbert H. Geringer of Perryville who died Sunday, October 6th, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born August 31st, 1917 in Biehle, the son of August and Mary (Werth) Geringer, who preceded him in death.

He married Alma R. Wingerter on May 17th, 1945. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: a daughter and son in law, JoAnn and Pete Lukefahr of Perryville; two sons and daughters in law, Neil and Bonnie Geringer of Perryville and Kevin and Linda Geringer of St. Louis; one half brother, Flavian Geringer of Definance; seven grandchildren, Dana and Charlie Triller, Renee Schamburg, Ryan and Derek Geringer, Taylor Geringer, Sarah and Jennifer Leard; and four great grandchildren, Kirsten and Faith Triller, Brett and Blake Schamburg.

He was also preceded in death by 12 half brothers and sisters; Josie, Helen and Christine Geringer, Louis, August, Ewald and Marion Geringer, Clara Grothoff, Dorothy and Emma Huber, Isabel Kirn and Angela Zak.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of the St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. There will be a parish wake at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

A funeral for 86-year-old Nelbert H. Geringer of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 8th at the St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Alphonse Hoernig will officiate.
