Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 for 92-year-old Edgar E. Degenhardt of Perryville, who died Sunday, December 19th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born November 7^th, 1912 in Wittenberg, the son of Augusta and Matilde (Poppitz) Degenhardt, who preceded him in death.

He married Eleanor Nolle July 21^st, 1971. She survives in Perryville.

Survivors also include: a daughter, Sally Ann Chester of Florida; two stepsons, David Degenhardt of Monmouth, Oregon and Erik Degenhardt of Perryville; two brothers, Rinehold Degenhardt of Altenburg and Wilmer Degenhardt of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Paula Holt of Altenburg; six grandchildren.

He was a retired guidance counselor and teacher, and a retired US Army veteran, serving in both WW II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, and was a retired member of the Perry County Health Department.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22nd, and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23^rd, at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville.

A funeral service for 92-year-old Edgar E. Degenhardt will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 23^rd, 2004 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate. American Legion Post 133 will conduct military graveside honors.
