Edgar E. Degenhardt Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 for 92-year-old Edgar E. Degenhardt of Perryville, who died Sunday, December 19th at the Perry County Nursing Home. He was born November 7th, 1912 in Wittenberg, the son of Augusta and Matilde (Poppitz) Degenhardt, who preceded him in death. He married Eleanor Nolle July 21st, 1971. She survives in Perryville. Survivors also include: a daughter, Sally Ann Chester of Florida; two stepsons, David Degenhardt of Monmouth, Oregon and Erik Degenhardt of Perryville; two brothers, Rinehold Degenhardt of Altenburg and Wilmer Degenhardt of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Paula Holt of Altenburg; six grandchildren. He was a retired guidance counselor and teacher, and a retired US Army veteran, serving in both WW II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, and was a retired member of the Perry County Health Department. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22nd, and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23rd, at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. A funeral service for 92-year-old Edgar E. Degenhardt will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate. American Legion Post 133 will conduct military graveside honors. You may make memorials to the Alzheimers Association. |
