A funeral will be held Thursday, December 9th, 2004 for 85-year-old Ella G. Hoffstetter, formerly of Perryville, who died today (Monday, December 6th) at the University Nursing and Rehab Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

She was born July 22nd, 1919 in Minnith, the daughter of James F. and Minnie A. (Carson) Boland who preceded her in death.

She married Harry G. Hoffstetter on August 3rd, 1944. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a son and daughter in law, Rev. Gary R. and Marylin Hoffstetter of Gordonville; a daughter and son in law, Janet and Robert Thomas of Edwardsville, Illinois; three sisters in law, Irma, Alma and Elizabeth Hoffstetter, all of Perryville; a nephew, Walter "Bud" Schremp, Jr., and his wife, Lois, of Bennett Springs; two nieces and their spouses, Lois and Martin Bohnert of Perryville, and Judy and Ken Douglas of Farmington; three grandchildren, Michelle Mann, and Tabitha and John Hoffstetter; two step grandchildren, Mike and Steve Thomas; a great grandson, Jacob; and three step great grandchildren, Tyler, Spencer and Olivia.

A sister, Mamie Schremp, and a half-brother, Gus Boland, also preceded her in death.

She was graduate of Perryville High School, Class of 1937. She was a member of the civil service, working at both the U. S. Coast Guard Reserve District 2 and the U. S. Army Record Center. She was a member of the Lutheran faith, the Lutheran Women Missionary League, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 8th and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Thursday, December 9th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home.

A funeral for 85-year-old Ella G. Hoffstetter, formerly of Perryville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 9th at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Perryville. The Rev. Gary Hoffstetter will officiate.
