Alda Evelyn Guemmer

A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 7th, 2004 for 90-year-old Alda Evelyn Guemmer of Perryville, who died July 5th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born January 5th, 1914 in Perry County, the daughter of Edgar and Amy Dell (Dempster) Farrar who both preceded her in death.

She married Leonard Carl Guemmer on December 25th, 1930. He preceded her in death.

Survivors are: a daughter in law, Betty Radner of Ste. Genevieve, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Willard; a brother, Palmer Farrar; two sisters, Sylvia Hager and Ruby Abernathy.

She was a medication aide at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid and American Legion Auxiliary.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. this (Tuesday, July 6th) afternoon and evening and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 90-year-old Alda Evelyn Guemmer of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Radio Broadcast-Perryville, Zion Lutheran Church-Longtown or the American Cancer Society.
