Emmet J. Hoffman Funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2004 for 103-year-old Emmet J. Hoffman of Perryville who died Friday, March 5 at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born on Nov. 30, 1900 in Perry County, the son of the late Andrew and Barbara (Huber) Hoffman. He was married to Leona Schulte on Feb. 28, 1933. She survives in Perryville. Surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sharron Hoffman of Huntsville, Ala., and one daughter and son-in-law, Velda and Cletus Gross of Bridgeton. Also surviving is one sister, Zita Lohman, of Perryville. Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive. Seven sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, the Knights of Columbus, and Holy Name Society of Sereno. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 6:30-9:45 a.m. at Young and Sons Chapel. Catholic Wake will be Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass for Emmet J. Hoffman will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church. Rev. Francis Agnew C.M. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial preference is to Our Lady of Victory Building Fund or charity of choice. |
