Carl J. Brune A funeral will be held Friday, May 14, 2004 for 81-year-old Carl J. Brune of Friedheim who died today (Wednesday, May 12) at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born September 2nd, 1922 in Friedheim, the son of O.H. and Mellie E. (Crites) Brune, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by four brothers and six sisters, John Brune of Perryville, Cleo Brune of Friedheim, Clyde "Bill" Brune of Sedgewickville, Loral Brune of Sedgewickville; Kelly Brune of Friedheim, Mary D. Brune of Sedgewickville, Verna L. Hobeck of Daisy, Jean Seems of Peoria, Arizona, Ruth Kutscher of St. Louis and Dorothy Buck of Parma, Ohio; and 21 nieces and nephews. A brother, Leo Brune, also preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and insurance agent. He was a life member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, where he was baptized and confirmed and was very active and held numerous offices. He was president of Arnsberg Insurance Company, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a 50-year member of the American Legion Post No. 133 in Perryville. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday, May 13th and 6:30 a.m. to noon Friday, May 14th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral for 81-year-old Carl J. Brune of Friedheim will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. David M. Burge will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery or Saxony Lutheran High School in Jackson. |
