James P. Grindstaff A funeral will be held Friday, October 15th, 2004 for 86-year-old James P. Grindstaff of Perryville who died Tuesday, October 12th at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born August 23rd, 1918 in Patton, the son of H. M. and Rosa (Reagan) Grindstaff who both preceded him in death. He married Janice C. Coker on January 23rd, 1942. She preceded him in death. Survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl Scott of Perryville; two sisters, Mae Vernile of Afton and Maude Hahn of St. Louis; a grandson, Randy Scott of Perryville and three great grandsons, Christopher, Trey and Nicholas Scott, all of Perryville. He was also preceded in death by a son in law, Larry "Scotty" Scott; a grandson, Robin; and three brothers, Raymond, Reagan and Truman. He was an autobody repairman and member of the First Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 14th and 6:30-10 a.m. Friday, October 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 86-year-old James P. Grindstaff of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Burial will be at the Methodist Cemetery in Patton. The Rev. Michael Perry will officiate. A military graveside service will be provided by the Delta Team. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
