A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 8th, 2004 for 53-year-old Donald J. Chappius of Perryville who died Sunday, September 5th at his residence.

He was born June 28th, 1951 in Perryville, the son of John Vincent and Elsie Marie (Ernst) Chappius who both preceded him in death.

He married Rebecca G. McDowell on December 30th, 1977. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: One daughter and son in law, Terri and Tim Green of Perryville; two sons, Joseph Chappius and Michael Chappius, both of Perryville; two brothers and one sister in law, David Chappius and James and Mary Chappius, all of Perryville; four sisters and three brothers in law, Ruth and Raymond Rauh and Shirley Yeager, all of Perryville, Ruby and Paul Otte of Ste. Genevieve and Roxie and Ed Drayton of St. Louis and three grandchildren.

He was retired from Chrysler Motors, where he was employed as a technician on the assembly line.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 133 Booster, VFW Booster and the Eagles.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 7th and 6:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 8th at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A funeral for 53-year-old Donald J. Chappius of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Fausz, C.M. will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
