A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 9th, 2005 for 57-year-old Howard Doyle Abernathy of Hartshorn, who died Wednesday, April 6th in Hartshorn.

He was born December 11th, 1947 in St. Louis, the son of Howard and Norma (Tidwell) Abernathy, who both preceded him in death.

Survivors include: one son, John Senate Abernathy of Granite City, Illinois; one daughter, Gweneth Elaine Abernathy of Ballwin; a brother, Gary Abernathy of Silver Spring, Maryland; a sister, Lois Matchett of Granite City, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Jacob Doyle and Eleanor Ruth Abernathy, Maya Ariana Shelton and Arreya Merita Shaw.

A brother, Charles Wayne, also preceded him in death.

He was a telecommunications engineer and steel mill worker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, QABL, and member of the Blabbermouth Baseball League.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A graveside service for 57-year-old Howard David Abernathy of Hartshorn will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9th at the York Chapel Cemetery.
