Melissa ‘Jeanie’ French A funeral will be held Saturday, January 15th, 2005 for 72-year-old Melissa "Jeanie" French of Perryville who died Wednesday, January 12th at her residence. She was born January 19th, 1932 in Crosstown, the daughter of Bennett and Minnie Mae (Mantz) Cashion, who both preceded her in death. She married Palmer Vinson on October 6th, 1951. He preceded her in death. She married Kenneth French on July 3rd, 1982. He survives in Perryville. Also surviving are: a daughter and son in law, Debbie and Tom Piva of Arnold; two stepsons and a stepdaughter in law, Calvin and Billie Jean French of Fenton and Gary French of Warren; two sisters, Viola Clifton and Evla Johnson, both of Perryville; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A brother, Edwin "Bud" Cashion; three sisters, Chlola McCarthy, Carrie Brown and Cora Brown; and an infant brother, Walter, also preceded her in death. She was a cement and laster at the International Shoe Co. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Perryville. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, January 14th and 6:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 72-year-old Melissa "Jeanie" French of Perryville will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 15th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Fund or school. |
