Cosimo F. Genovese

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28th, 2005, for 77-year-old Cosimo F. Genovese of Perryville, who died Sunday, July 24th, 2005 at Perry Oaks Manor.

He was born August 13th, 1927 in Rochester, NY, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Flescher) Genovese. They preceded him in death.

He married Lorraine Plachta October 18th, 1947 in Rochester, NY. She survives in Perryville.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael Genovese of Centerville, VA, and David Genovese of Eagen, MN; a daughter, Cindy Cox of Perryville; a sister, Evelyn Skrzynski of Rochester, NY; two step brothers, Peter Genovese of Rochester, NY, and Robert Genovese of Phoenix, AZ; and seven grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister.

He was a World War II veteran, serving as a "Seabee" with the U. S. Navy. He worked at Sargent and Greenleaf for 22 years before retiring from America Devices in Steelville, IL.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27th, and from 6:30-9:50 a.m. Thursday, July 28th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus start at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass for 77-year-old Cosimo F. Genovese of Perryville will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28th, 2005 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate.

Burial will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
