Wesley E. Brown

A funeral was held Saturday, December 16, 2006 for 62-year-old Wesley E. Brown, of Jackson, formerly of Ste. Genevieve, who died Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 18, 1944, in Ste. Genevieve, son of the late Paul E. Brown and Nellie Marie Stanley Brown who survives in Jackson.

He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Daina and Richard Bert, and a granddaughter Olivia all of Oak Ridge; a special friend, Gladys Howard of Jackson; a brother, William "Bill" Brown of Jackson; two sisters, Margaret Morton and Brenda Reker of Cape Girardeau; and six nephews.

He worked several years for Union Mechling Barge Lines. He was a self-employed truck driver, and then drove for Jerry Lipps Trucking, Birk Trucking, and Bloomsdale Excavating. He was a member of Teamsters Local 600 in Cape Girardeau.

Wesley is remembered for his love of quarter horses, which he raised for many years. He especially enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River, rabbit hunting and attending shooting matches in Biehle.

A funeral for 62-year-old Wesley E. Brown of Jackson, formerly of Ste. Genevieve, was held Saturday at the McCombs funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial was in the Russell Heights Cemetery.
