Chalmer Joseph "Jim" Esselman

A funeral was held Saturday, September 9, 2006 for 80-year-old Chalmer Joseph "Jim" Esselman of Owensville, who died Wednesday, September 6th at the Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.

He was born September 7th, 1925 in Claryville, the son of Patrick and Lillian Esselman, who both preceded him in death.

He married Charmaine Donnelly on October 5th, 1946. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters and sons in law: Cathy and Lynn Hartmann of Florissant and Nancy and Blake Foster of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Bryan Chester, Julie Chester and Aaron Foster; and two great grandchildren: Devin Foster and Tristan Foster.

Six brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Owensville VFW Post No. 6133.

A funeral for 80-year-old Chalmer Joseph "Jim" Esselman of Owensville was held this morning Saturday, September 9th, 2006 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.

Burial was in the St. Johns Bern Cemetery in Bern.
