Norman S. Evans

A funeral will be held Thursday, September 7th, 2006 for 72-year-old Norman S. Evans of Frohna, who died Monday, September 4th, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 1st, 1934 in Wheat Ridge, CO, the son of Rudy and Paula (Fielder) Degenhardt. They preceded him in death.

He married Alida Haertling October 3rd, 1959. She survives in Frohna.

He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Linda and Duaine Steffens of Jackson; three brothers in law and their spouses, Elton and Grace Haertling of Frohna, Clint and Martha Haertling of Perryville, Ruben and Carol Haertling of New Wells; three sisters in law, two with spouses, Lorene and Jerry Mayfield of Patton, Lorna and Kenny Steffens of Frohna, Ruth Haertling of New Wells; granddaughters Erin and Emma Steffens of Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers in law preceded him in death.

He was a farmer, working livestock and agricultural products. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, life member of VFW Post 4282, and American Legion Post 133.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 6th, and 6:30-10 a.m. Thursday, September 7th at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

A funeral for 72-year-old Norman S. Evans of Frohna will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 7th, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Steven Dressler will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. VFW Post 4282 will provide military graveside honors.
