Clayton J. Bohnert A funeral will be held Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007 for 89-year-old Clayton J. Bohnert of Perryville died Saturday, March 31st, at his home.
He married Dorothy Guyott June 8th, 1943. He had been employed with Pittsburg Plate Glass. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was in the Army in World War II, serving with the Sixth Armored Division. He received a Bronze Star, a Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Award and five battle stars. He was a retired command sergeant major and member of the National Guard and American Legion Post 133. He is also survived by three sons and two daughters in law, Steve and Faye Bohnert and Brian and Connie Bohnert, all of Perryville, Kevin Bohnert of Jackson; two daughters and sons in law, Judy and Steve Huber and Vickie and Ralph Schamburg, all of Perryville; two brothers, Martin "Shorty" Bohnert of Perryville, Clyde "Jack" Bohnert of Fenton; a sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Meyer of Frohna; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a grandson, Justin Bohnert. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. this (Monday, April 2nd) evening and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3rd at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be at 7 this (Monday, April 2nd) evening, an American Legion wake will follow at 7:15 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral mass for 89-year-old Clayton J. Bohnert of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Revs. Kevin Fausz and Alphonse Hoernig officiating. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Crosstown, with graveside military honors provided by Delta Team. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or to St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown. |
